About me

A bit about me

I have been working as a designer for 7 years, with experience in a range of sectors such as fin-tech, healthcare, agency and retail.

After spending 4 and a half years as a multidisciplinary Graphic designer and spending more time working on some large UX/UI projects, which required complex design thinking, I decided I wanted to specialise in UX/UI design. In order to take my designs to a deeper level, creating products that not only were well designed and aesthetically pleasing but also made the user journey easier. I particularly enjoy UX/UI design because you have the ability to transform people’s lives by trying to understand the challenges users face and working out how to make their lives easier.

My Design Process

My design process has refined over the years, but the main objective is to understand and empathise with my user. It is very easy to become so focused on patterns and technically cost/limitations, but good UX/UI designers will look for the right balance for their clients and users.

Dissect the requirements of the project and make questions. Have I got all the information I need? What do I need to find out? How is my target audience? What does the business what to achieve from this?

Discuss requirements with Business Ensure I have understood what they want! Does my stakeholder know what they want? Does my stakeholder already have preconceptions of what they want to achieve that may affect what I bring to them? what is the best way to communicate deliverables to this client?

Proposing Solutions propose solutions and be open to new ideas and feedback in the initial design generation stage.

Get feedback Check you are on the same page as your user ask them about pros and cons of the design. Make them walk you through the design without implying anything.

Refine the design make any tweaks discussed then if required get more feedback from your users and business be sure of the approach.

Create final deliverables for your final outcome but also be aware of any technical challenges that may mean the design may have to be tweaked again due to any limitations or cost implications and discuss this with who will be making your final delivery.

Aid in any queries and validate final designs delivered whoever is delivering your final design may need clarification and validation throughout final delivery also keep regular contact throughout the process.

And finally, be proud of what you have delivered and also learn from any challenges!
